Letter from the Founder & Label Manager
Roderick Woods
Founder & Label Manager, Dynamyte Music Group
The music industry has long been driven by creativity, culture, and global influence—yet meaningful inclusion at the executive level has not always progressed at the same pace. As the Founder and Label Manager of Dynamyte Music Group, I believe inclusion is not an initiative or a moment in time, but a responsibility that must be built into the foundation of how a company operates.
Dynamyte was created to serve artists, producers, and independent labels with integrity, access, and global reach. From the beginning, we understood that true leadership is reflected not only in outcomes, but in who is empowered to shape them. That belief guided our decision-making as we established global distribution partnerships and internal leadership structures that reflect the diverse communities driving today’s music economy.
The findings presented in the 2025 Inclusion in the Music Business report by USC Annenberg reaffirm what many of us in the independent sector already know: representation matters most when it is paired with authority, accountability, and long-term opportunity. At Dynamyte, women—and women of color—are positioned in roles that directly influence execution, strategy, and global delivery.
This white paper represents our commitment to transparency, progress, and participation in the broader industry conversation. While no company is finished evolving, Dynamyte remains dedicated to building systems that support equity, elevate leadership, and contribute to a more inclusive music business for future generations.
